Something new. 
 
Often a free plugin works just as well or better than the spendy ones that we would love to have but can't afford.   As I work with new and different plugins, sometimes I discover a tip or how-to for the filter.  When I do, I will write a mini-tut specifically for that plugin to show you how I used it and my results. 
 
Since I don't have time to send two tuts a week, I will send these as Tool of the Week.

I was playing with a funky little monkey tube and clicked on Xero - Alien Mist to see what it would do.  I was pleased.  When I looked at Xero's website and his example of Alien Mist, I remembered why I never used this filter.  I find this to be true with many tools and plugins - the examples are so extreme that I don't want to apply them.  So as I discover new ways to use dusty plugins, I will share it with the group.
